In today’s news, Thailand benefits from pandemic assistance, France supports humanitarian initiative in Tanzania, United States scientists develop sponge to reduce oil pollution at sea, consumers uphold carbon labeling globally, ingenious hug tunnel brings families close amid COVID-19 in Brazil, vegan food sales soar in United Arab Emirates and Italian coast guard saves whale from fishing net.

United States supports Thailand during COVID-19.

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided US$700,000 worth of grants to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to reduce the spread of the virus and lessen its impact on susceptible groups in Thailand, including stateless ethnic minorities as well as migrants and their families. The USAID-UNICEF partnership, in collaboration with the Thai government, a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance laureate, has joined with civil and international organizations to provide assistance. This includes guidance and psychological support for parents and caregivers in need, and information distribution on health and hygiene practices. Teaching migrant youth to help their communities with anti-COVID measures and continued skill training and education are other initiatives. The United States is a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate. Our heartfelt gratitude, United States, for your generosity. Thank you also, Thailand, UNICEF and all involved. May the gracious people of Thailand be shielded in Buddha’s boundless love.

France supports improving water supply in Tanzania.

The French Development Agency, responsible for financially implementing policies of the Government of France, has agreed to provide a €70 million concessional loan to improve water supply and sanitation services in Morogoro, a town in eastern Tanzania. To be implemented by Morogoro Urban Water and Sanitation Authority, the project is predicted to benefit over 722,000 residents with a clean and safe water supply, and at least 15% of the population with access to an effective sewage network by 2025. When completed, the current drinking water production capacity will be almost tripled, and the relevant infrastructure renovated and expanded. Our salute, Tanzania and France. In Heaven’s overflowing grace, may the gentle people of Tanzania continue to flourish.

Up next, sponge developed by scientists to reduce oil pollution at sea. We’ll just take a little time to thank furniture designers for creating so many kinds of comfy sofas, chairs, desks, tables, etc. for our everyday use. Please stay for more brightening news on Supreme Master Television.

Hallo brilliant viewers, I’m Pitu the vegan Swan, and I’m one of the stars of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s #1 international bestseller, “The Noble Wilds.” Make proper amends to all animal friends, and go vegan today! I have a cool tip to help you easily get ketchup out of a glass bottle. Rather than hitting the bottom of the bottle, try holding the bottle at a 45-degree angle and tapping the neck. Thank you for watching, and much love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Here’s the weather around the world!

Smart sponge coating invented to clean up oil spills.

Scientists led by Dr. Vinayak Dravid at Northwestern University, Illinois in the United States have developed a sponge that can soak up to 30 times its weight in oil, thanks to its special coating. Any sponge can receive this nanocomposite coating, which attracts oil while leaving water behind, and can be reused up to several dozen times, helping to spare damage to water quality and marine wildlife in the wake of an oil spill. Referring to the detrimental effects of oil spills, Dr. Dravid said, “Our sponge can remediate these spills in a more economic, efficient and eco-friendly manner than any of the current state-of-the-art solutions.” Great work, Dr. Vinayak Dravid and colleagues! The technology you have developed promotes care of our precious oceans helping our planet to thrive, in Celestial radiance.

Survey reveals the majority of people support carbon labeling on products.

A survey by YouGov, a United Kingdom-headquartered market research company, revealed that 67% of people surveyed support carbon labeling on products, which was the same percentage as last year. The study, commissioned by UK-based company Carbon Trust, dedicated to a sustainable future, covered over 10,000 respondents across Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, the United States and the United Kingdom. Also, 64% of people surveyed revealed they would be more inclined to think positively about a company that could show it had decreased its carbon footprint on products. Wonderful news, YouGov and Carbon Trust. In God’s caring light, may all companies soon label their products’ carbon emissions, so citizens can make wise and eco-friendly shopping decisions.

Brazilian care home uplifts seniors with “hug tunnel.”

Senior residents of a care home in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, were able to meet their family or friends to exchange hugs after months of isolation due to the corona virus lockdown. The Geriatric Clinic Três Figueiras installed a thick clear plastic sheet at the entrance with four arm sleeves. All visitors have their temperature taken by the staff, who also disinfect the meeting area after each use, with all visits scheduled in advance. The facility credited the idea to the viral video of a woman in the United States who set up the plastic curtain in order to be able to hug her mother. Rubia Santos, administrator of the care home, said, “It is so gratifying to see them hugging each other, and so important.” Thank you, Três Figueiras and staff, for your thoughtful efforts to brighten the lives of your residents. May we all continue to find ways to bring Heaven’s comfort to each other.

Up next on Noteworthy News, soaring vegan food sales in United Arab Emirates. Let’s pause to pray that humans will tread evermore gently upon this planet, living at peace with nature and fellow Earthlings. We’ll return with more gratifying news on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Happy News for a Contented World.

Vegan product sales quadruple for Dubai’s online grocer.

Organic and Real, a leading provider of organic fruits, vegetables and more in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has experienced a four-fold growth in sales of plant-based items since the inception of stay at home practices. Beyond Meat Burgers and Oatly brand Oat Milk Barista are among the most popular vegan products, with the Daiya and Alpro vegan brands also seeing gains. Organic and Real plans to expand into Saudi Arabia and has the goal of extending to 20 countries in a decade. The rising sales of plant-based products confirms a previous market study by Euromonitor International that showed the UAE to be the second fastest growing vegan market in the world between 2015 and 2020. A round of applause, Organic and Real, and bravo, United Arab Emirate citizens, on your smart food choices that promote individual and planetary health. May more people follow your benevolent lead, in Allah’s compassion.

Italian coast guard saves whale from fishing net.

Members of the Italian coast guard recently freed a 10-meter-long sperm whale from a fishing net that he had become entangled in after being alerted to the situation by four biologists. The rescue took place near Salina Island. Initially, the coast guard tried to remove the net that had become wrapped around his body from within the boat, but it was not possible. Several divers were called who managed to disentangle the whale, and once free, he swam off to join three other whales who were waiting for him. We are so happy to hear the whale was freed and wish him joyous travels in a clean ocean for many years to come. God bless you, kind coastguards and biologists, for your loving actions. We pray that all marine areas will soon be protected to ensure the safety of every being living there, in Divine splendor.

Chuckle, guffaw and laugh out loud with the joke of the day called “Practical Lesson.”

A young boy argued with his mother insisting that 1+1 was equal to 11.

The mother said to her son: “Honey, would you go and buy two apples?”

Little Robin went and returned with the two apples.

“Now, give one to me and the other to your brother.”

“What about me?”

“Well, you can eat the nine apples that are left...!”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Celeste in Canada:

Hi Master! I always get Papa to tell me what they are saying on the Joke of the Day, I hear the music before the joke, and I run to the TV and say, “Papa, what are they saying?” And Papa explains. Then, one morning, I went to Papa and told him two jokes that I made up. Papa laughed and wrote them down so I could send them to Supreme Master Television! I also like the animal tips I see every day. The thing I love most on Supreme Master TV is when there are pictures of no good things, and then Master says, “Be a Hero! Be Vegan!” That’s my favorite. And I want to say I love You. Love from Celeste (4 years old) Vancouver, Canada

Jokes from Celeste Joke #1

Celeste: Why did the world go round and round?

Papa: I don’t know. Why?

Celeste: Because it was at the playground!

Joke #2

Celeste: Why did the tree go up and down and was jumping and was spinning all around?

Papa: Why?

Celeste: Because he was at gymnastics.

Funny Celeste, Thank you for sharing your delightful jokes and all the things on Supreme Master Television you enjoy so much, and, of course, about your love for Supreme Master Ching Hai!

Master has a special message for you: “Angelic Celeste, I really enjoyed your jokes. Just like your name “Celeste,” your Heavenly Light shines brightly and I pray God continues to bless you and your loved ones abundantly. I am touched by your radiant love and joy, and I send you a big hug with lots of Love. May God illuminate your way, and that of the nature-loving Canadian people, always.”

We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. Please send them via SupremeMasterTV.com/heartline
