My Respected and Beloved Master and the Supreme Master TV team, Recently, I saw Master talk about the three types of Masters on Supreme Master TV. It reminded me of the words of the abbot of Gu Yan Temple in Taiwan (Formosa). He said, “We’d rather be in extreme poverty and disband than become an ashram that recites sutras and performs repentance services.” He is probably the third kind of master. In the early years, one of Master’s disciples was very grateful to Master for taking his father up after his passing. He was also thankful to some fellow initiates who went to meditate for his father. Therefore, he suggested to Master to form a meditation group in the center to go to the homes of the deceased. Master did not agree. With respect, I admire Master’s great foresight, which from the very early stage has been leading us, whether visibly or invisibly, to walk in the right direction.
In Master’s early lectures, I once heard Master’s doubts about the sayings of the “32 bodily features and 80 noble qualities” of the Buddha’s body. Master said: “We have heard that Shakyamuni Buddha had 32 bodily features and 80 noble qualities, which was said by His disciples. The reason being that during their meditation, they saw how solemn, majestic, and brilliant His light body was, possessing so many magnificent characteristics beyond this world. Those were the real, magnificent characteristics. If not so, from what I saw of Shakyamuni Buddha’s physical appearance, there weren’t any magnificent characteristics. He looked just like ordinary Indians. I’m sorry, but I have to tell the truth.” Later on, I did find some information proving that the saying appeared 116 years after the Buddha’s Nirvana. It was an era after Buddhism split into different sects, and the Ananda Monastic Order does not accept such sayings. Those descriptions make people confused about the future Buddha’s appearance, while average masters have nothing but endless praises for the descriptions of Buddha’s physical traits and bodily characteristics. However, our Master will bravely tell the truth that ordinary people in the world cannot see.
Master keeps telling the world to go vegan and be repentant. Buddhism also says sincere repentance is a kind of protective power that helps block the seeds of bad karma from bearing fruit, and makes the affinity insufficient for bad karma to take effect.
